Alex Smith founded the Dick Pig Review and Red China Magazine (now folded) and the poetry and art publishing house Black Maze Books. He is the president of the Sporting Gentlemen, Inc., a nascent press whose first title will be Against Religion by H.P. Lovecraft.
His writing has appeared most recently in Vice, The Best American Poetry Blog, and is upcoming in Brad Downey’s Vanity project. His book of poems, LUX, (Black Maze, 2008) is available on Amazon.
Alex teaches English and composition at John Jay College, and lives on Manhattan Island.
